Choose the stop that fits your day

A pie stop works best when it belongs naturally in the route. If you are already exploring Main Street, choose a town stop and leave time to sit down. If you are passing through Santa Ysabel, check whether a stop there makes more sense than driving into Julian solely for a takeaway.

Julian Pie Company lists its Julian shop at 2225 Main Street and its Santa Ysabel shop at 21976 Highway 79. A slice now, or a whole pie for later?

Decide whether you want a sit-down break or something to take away. A slice is easier to build into a short visit; a whole pie needs a place to travel securely and whatever storage the bakery recommends. Ask staff about the ingredients and handling of the specific pie you buy, especially for a long drive or an overnight trip.

Do not treat a flavour name as an allergy statement. If your group has dietary requirements, ask the business directly about ingredients and cross-contact. Confirm choices before queuing where possible, and keep an alternative meal plan if the available options do not suit you.

Give the food stop breathing room

In a busy town visit, it is easy to place a pie stop between two bookings and turn a treat into a deadline. Leave a generous gap or make it the last flexible stop. A short Main Street walk beforehand gives everyone a chance to look around.

Pie season and picking season are different
